Shude Wu
Shude Wu

Wu is an internationally renowned Suona soloist and composer. He graduated from the China Conservatory of Music and is recognized as the only “anointed” and living Master who received training from the grand master Hu Haiquan. He was the concert master in the Suona Department at China National Opera and Dance Drama Theater and was awarded the “Outstanding Actor Award” by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China. Wu has given performances in more than twenty countries; in 1998, he performed for President Bill Clinton and President Jiang Zemin Jiang in Beijing. Currently, he is the music counselor of California Youth Chinese Symphony.


Fenglin Zhang
Fenglin Zhang

Zhang graduated from the China Conservatory of Music in 1985, where he learned systematically different genres and schools of Sheng. He worked in the China National Opera and Dance Drama Theater for fifteen years. In 1991, he was awarded the “Outstanding Actor Award” by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China. Since immigrating to the United States, Zhang has continued to teach and perform Sheng.


Randy Wang
Randy Wang

Born into a musical family, Wang started playing drum at the age of four. In 1989, he entered the Shanghai Conservatory and, upon graduation, became the percussion soloist in the Shanghai Song and Dance Troupe. In 1996, Wang won a scholarship to study at Berlin Conservatory of Music. The same year he won the first prize in the World Music Competition in Berlin and was invited to perform in the Presidential Palace three times. At Berlin Conservatory of Music, he became the first double major, in Jazz drum and small percussion, under the tutelage of Mario Würzebesser and Wolfram Blechner. Wang has made many recording, including playing the drum in the Oscar-winning sound track of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. In 2000, he moved to America where he established the Chinese Percussion Society.


Churong He
Churong He

He graduated from the China Conservatory of Music in 1985 and became a professor there. In 1985 and 1995, she won the Silver Prize in the national professional Erhu competition. She has taught for thirty years, with students all over the world. Currently, she lives in the United States.


Wenying Wu
Wenying Wu

Wu graduated from the China Conservatory of Music. She performed in the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games, published a book titled Starting from Zero: Learn How to Play Dulcimer, and has adapted and created many works. Since she moved to the United States, she has been invited to perform in Carnegie Hall, California Grand Theatre, Los Angeles Grand Theatre, the State House, etc. Currently, she is the music director and conductor of Capital Chinese Orchestra and River City M Music.


Xiaoqing Yu
Xiaoqing Yu

Famous Chinese young flute and flute performer, independent of the National Orchestra of China Opera and Dance Theater Actor. Standing director of the Bamboo Flute Professional Committee of the Chinese National Orchestral Society. Graduated from China Conservatory of Music in 2001. He has studied under Chen Qiguo, Zhao Songting, Yu Xunfa, Zhang Weiliang, Wang Ciheng and other famous flute masters.
